With Quantum Smart-1, you can manage up to 500 gateways (up to 10,000 gateways in a multi-domain environment), segment the network into up to 200 independent domains, and detect security threats in real time. The platform also offers excellent scalability to accommodate future needs.
Key features of Check Point Quantum Smart-1
-
Centralized management of multiple gateway appliances
Quantum Smart-1 consolidates the management of security functions, logs, and events into a dedicated appliance, enabling centralized management and monitoring through a single, unified console. Policies for a wide range of security functions—including firewall, IPS, antivirus, anti-bot, threat emulation, URL filtering, and application control—can be defined and monitored using SmartConsole.
It also provides capabilities such as log review, event tracking, report viewing, network activity monitoring, trend analysis, and centralized distribution of signatures and software updates. -
Instant Search Across Massive Volumes of Logs
All Quantum Smart-1 models include the unified security management console and SmartLog, a Logging & Status Software Blade feature. With full-text search, you can centrally track log information and security activities across all Software Blades.
SmartLog is a simple, intuitive search tool that works like a search engine. It can instantly locate the required information from billions of log records. This allows you to search any log field in real time and obtain detailed results without spending long hours on investigation. For proactive security investigations, you can perform in-depth analysis across multiple log files by specifying conditions such as period, gateway, domain, action, user, or geographic region. -
Base and Plus models
Quantum Smart-1 is available in two model types: Base and Plus. Compared to the Base model, the Plus model doubles the number of manageable gateways and the amount of memory.
In addition to choosing higher-end hardware, you can select either a Base or Plus model on the same hardware platform, enabling more flexible sizing to meet a wide range of deployment scenarios. -
Built-in multi-domain management
Quantum Smart-1 can segment security management into up to 200 independent domains.
By separating domains based on location, department, or security function, you can divide management authority and policies to strengthen security while simplifying administration. At the same time, you can centrally manage security across all domains while maintaining their independence. For example, using fine-grained role-based administration, you can separate duties for each security function while still centrally configuring and managing firewall, VPN, IPS, and other protections across all domains.
Quantum Smart-1 7000L, 7000XL, and 7000UL models come standard with the Global Policy Software Blade, which allows shared use of common baseline security settings and network topology across all domains to improve security consistency and strength.
In addition, on models that support multi-domain log management, log files can be stored separately per domain, improving overall network performance.
Deployment examples
Deployment example 1: Centralized management of multiple security gateways
Quantum Smart-1 provides centralized management for a wide range of security functions across both physical and virtual gateways.
Quantum Smart-1 provides centralized management for a wide range of security functions across both physical and virtual gateways.
Security policies, logs, and events are consolidated into a single dedicated appliance, reducing the operational burden on administrators while improving the efficiency of security management tasks and providing visibility into the security status of the entire network.
With Check Point’s integrated security management solution, Quantum Smart-1 enables centralized management of diverse security functions for both physical and virtual gateways.
Deployment example 2: Multi-tenant management
The multi-domain management capability allows you to segment security management into up to 200 independent domains.
You can define separate security policies and assign dedicated administrators for each domain, enhancing security while simplifying management. In a multi-tenant scenario, for example, policies and log storage can be isolated per tenant. By separating management traffic from log traffic, you can improve network performance and further strengthen both security and manageability across the environment.
